Weather Observations at Trailhead
The day started with overcast skies and heavy rain, setting the tone for a wet and adventurous hike. Embarking on the Wet Laughton Trail
Despite the rain, spirits were high as we embarked on our hike from the trailhead. The wet conditions added a mystical quality to the surroundings, with the vegetation glistening under the precipitation.
Unexpected Duck Sighting
We encountered a charming scene of a female Harlequin Duck, accompanied by three fluffy ducklings. Such common yet delightful wildlife encounters enrich the hike experience on the Laughton Trail.
Rare Summer Snowfall Sighting
High on the ridge north of Warm Pass, a fresh dusting of snow on the mountains, a rare sight for July. It’s amazing how weather can surprise us even in the summer months, showcasing nature’s unpredictable beauty.
