Embarking on the Laughton Glacier Expedition
Our journey commenced at the trailhead under an overcast sky, a typical day in the expansive wilderness near Laughton Glacier. With temperatures at a cool 14°C, we began our hike through the lush Alaskan landscape. Excitement was palpable as we traversed the winding paths leading us deeper into the heart of nature.
Encountering Laughton Glacier’s Chilly Embrace
Reaching the toe of Laughton Glacier, we observed significant changes in our environment. The temperature had dropped to a brisk 7.3°C with a light drizzle causing the humidity to peak at 91.4%. This part of the hike offered a majestic view of the glacial formations, an unforgettable encounter with one of nature’s cold giants. Despite the drizzle, visibility remained good, allowing us to capture the striking landscape amid the silent, overcast atmosphere.
