Weather Observations at Meadows
As we progressed through the Laughton Glacier Trail, we observed an overcast sky over the meadows. The temperature stood at 7.3°C with a humidity of 64.7%. The wind was gentle at 0.7 km/h coming from the north-northeast. Atmospheric pressure was recorded at 947.7 hPa with excellent visibility and no precipitation.
First River Cloud Coverage
Upon reaching First River, the conditions remained consistent with overcast skies. The temperature slightly dropped to 7.0°C, while humidity increased to 68.1%. Wind conditions were calm, with speeds at 1.0 km/h from the southwest. The atmospheric pressure was 946.2 hPa, maintaining excellent visibility and no precipitation.
Approaching Laughton Glacier Toe
Near the toe of the Laughton Glacier, the weather remained stable with an overcast sky. Temperatures here were cooler at 3.5°C, and humidity rose to 76.7%. Wind speed was measured at 1.0 km/h coming from the south-southeast. The atmospheric pressure dropped to 919.8 hPa, but visibility remained excellent without any precipitation.
Trailhead Weather Update
At the trailhead, we noted a rise in temperature to 6.7°C and a decrease in humidity to 63.9%. The wind picked up to 3.3 km/h from the southwest. Pressure was recorded at 947.4 hPa. Despite the increased wind, the overcast conditions persisted, with excellent visibility and no signs of precipitation.
